Franke Sloothaak's remarkable Weihaiwej passed away

Franke Sloothaak's former mare, Weihaiwej will go in the history books as the mare with two blue eyes. The Oldenburger-mare has recently passed away at age 35 years old. The daughter of Westminster jumped together a remarkable career with Franke Sloothaak in the saddle. The pair jumped to a second place in the World Cup finals of 's Hertogenbosch inn 1994. The combination also jumped twice on stage at the German Championships.  In 1994 Sloothaak and Weihaiwej won the World Equestrian Games in Den Haag. Weihaiwej leaves seven descendants from which the 14-year-old Asha San di Patrignano (Indoctro) is the most remarkable jumping at a 1.50m level.
