Under floodlights in Bratislava, the final regional qualifier in the Longines EEF Series has taken place tonight. In the end it was Ireland jumping to victory in this final qualifier.
Team Ireland was victorious, with double clears from Harry Allen (Calculatus, f. Cachassini) and Jason Foley (Oscar v/h Hulstenhof, f. Zirocco Blue VDL) helping the team secure the win. For Ireland also Cmdt. Geoff Curran with Tempor Manor (Sligo Candy Boy) and Thomas Ryan aboard Di Cantero Van ter Hulst Z (Diamant de Semilly) competed.
A hard-fought battle behind saw Austria take 2nd place and the home nation Slovakia claimed 3rd.
The fight for qualifying points amongst the central regional teams was fierce but it was the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Germany and Slovakia who have succeeded and will take a spot in the semi-finals in Ebreichsdorf on June 30th.
