Jeroen Dubbeldam: "The European title was the only missing one..."

Yesterday the reigning World Champion added a new title on his personal record. Together with SFRN Zenith N.O.P. he became the new European Champion for the next two years. Without making any jumping fault the Dutch show jumper proved to be the top of the world (and Europe), taking home two gold medals. "It's like a dream becoming reality. Taking a win in Aachen and this time even at the European Championships," states Dubbeldam. "Life cannot get any better. It was the only title that was still missing on my track record." So far Dubbeldam has been World Champion (WEG 2014, Caen) and Olympic Champion (Olympics 2000, Sydney). "Everything went as it was planned. Zenith made it very easy for me," continues the new European Champion. With his victory Dubbeldam writes history and can now be called the most succesful ride in history. "I just had to win this title. I knew it would be a hard battle to fight. There are so many good riders and horses. Everything has to go according to the plan, and eventually it did." Also Dutch teamchef, Rob Ehrens reacts enthousiast. "It is just amazing. I'm so proud of Jeroen. All horses proved to be at their best, and Jeroen just added it a step further."
