Michael Pender impresses in Sopot

The first day of the CSIO5* in Sopot, Poland concluded with a 1.50m class, directly on time. In this class, counting for Longines Ranking points, it was Ireland's Michael Pender jumping to victory aboard the 11-year-old  HHS Catwalk (Cit Cat).

The Irish jumper and his 11-year-old mare were about two seconds faster as Italy's Emanuele Gaudiano aboard Crack Balou (Balou du Reventon). In front of the home crowd, Adam Grzegorzewski followed with Stakata (Stanely), leaving Mikolaj Baranski and Qatar Donaldson Z (Quidam de Revel) in a third place.

The top five was completed by Switzerland's former European Champion, Martin Fuchs and his 9-year-old Zangersheide-gelding, Viper Z (Vigo d'Arsouilles).
