Philipp Schulze Topphoff wins 5* opening in St Tropez [VIDEO]

Under a bright sun, at the plage the pampelonne, the CSI5* combinations kicked-off the show week. In the 1.45m opening class it was Germany's Philipp Schulze Topphoff and the 10-year-old Carla jumping to victory.

Topphoff and the 10-year-old daughter of Comme Il Faut made a clear round in 62.40 seconds. Also Great-Britain's Lily Attwood kept the time in under 63 seconds. Attwood followed on stage aboard her 13-year-old BWP-gelding, Karibou Horta (Landor S). 

Aboard Jos Verlooy's former gelding, Attwood referred, France's Kevin Staut to the third spot. Staut followed in a third place with his 14-year-old Cornet's Velvet RS (Cornet Obolensky).

The combination was followed by Germany's Patrick Stühlmeyer and Quando Vengo (Quandros 3) placing fourth. Laura Kraut (USA) completed the top five aboard her 11-year-old SF-gelding, Calgary Tame (Old Chap Tame).
