Today the first round of the Competition 2 at the FEI European Championships was competed in Milan. In the individual ranking, Sweden's Jens Fredricson speeded to victory aboard his 12-year-old Markan Cosmopolit (Cohiba). In the team ranking it is Germany taking the lead with only 0,2 points difference.
All riders agreed... "It was a heigh built and difficult course today". Also Ben Maher who set a clear with Faltic Hb and Christian Kukuk who finished clear with Mumbai agreed on the difficulty. "Today Mumbai showed me he can cope and take initiative when focussed," Kukuk said.
After his first place on the first day and a winning position today, Jens Fredricson is in the lead of the individual ranking with his 12-year-old gelding, Markan Cosmopolit (Cohiba). With 0.31 points difference, Philipp Weishaupt is currently ranked second aboard the 10-year-old Dynamix de Belheme (Zinedine), while Steve Guerdat is placed third with Dynamix de Belheme (Snaike de Blondel).
"Today I had a better ride as yesterday," Guerdat said. "It was a nice course and the results are realistic. Dynamix went exactly as planned. We had a great round, but still have a long way to go."
In the individual top five France's Julien Epaillard is currently placed fourth aboard his trusted Dubai du Cedre (Baloubet du Rouet). Henrik von Eckermann follows in fifth with Iliana (Cardento).

Today's first round counted for the team finals. Tomorrow the second round is set with a Jump-Off. At the moment Germany has taken the lead with a clear round from Weishaupt and Zineday as well as Jana Wargers and Limbridge (Guardus) setting a clear round.
The Swedish team follows in second. For Sweden both Henrik von Eckermann and Jens Fredricson set a clear round. Switzerland is currently ranked third.
