BWP Ambassador Wandor Van de Mispelaere Passes Away at Age 26. "It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Wandor. He was born at our stud farm in 1999, grew up in our fields, and ultimately impressed at the 1.50m level. We are so proud that he was part of our family for so long," says the Vermeulen family.
In 2012, the stallion made his final international appearance at the CSI5* in Basel. Together with Richard Spooner, he jumped to a third-place finish in the CSI5* 1.45m. The son of Landor S also secured fourth place at the 2008 FEI Zangersheide Sires of the World. That same year, he placed fourth in the CSI2* 1.45m Grand Prix in Moorsele—both results achieved with Grant Wilson in the saddle.
With Richard Spooner, he competed up to CSI5* level, earning placings in Basel, A Coruna, and notably, Geneva.
As a breeding stallion, Wandor left his mark with no fewer than 17 offspring reaching the 1.60m level. One such descendant is Koen Vereecke’s bred Goja 27, who competed up to the 1.70m level with Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmerman. Lucy Deslauriers' Hester is also a descendant of Wandor.
Our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends!
