Kannan takes throne at 'WBFSH Sire Ranking'

The WBFSH is proud to present the 2024 Sires of the Year, celebrating the world’s top sires across Dressage, Jumping, and Eventing. This year’s rankings showcase not only the return of some remarkable names but also notable shifts among leading stallions.

Yet another year that saw stallions in all three Olympic disciplines confirm their legacy, and whose influence will continue to shape the future of equestrian sports and improve the next generations of sport horses.

WBFSH 2024 Stallions of the Year

Dressage: Johnson (Jazz x Flemmingh), KWPN, 31,608 points
Jumping: Kannan (Voltaire x Nimmerdor), KWPN, 25,853 points
Eventing: Diarado (Diamant de Semilly x Corrado I), HOLST, 2,471 points

The Jumping Sire category welcomed a new leader as Kannan (Voltaire x Nimmerdor) claimed the first position with 25,853 points, advancing from his previous third-place. Proving himself as a versatile stallion, he also takes the number five postion in the Eventing Sire Rankings this year. Chacco-Blue(Chambertin x Contender) follows with 24,939 points, maintaining his second-place from last year. With a very narrow margin,he stays ahead of last year's leader, Diamant de Semilly (Le Tot de Semilly x Elf III), who settled into third with 24,839 points, showcasing once again the ongoing neck and neck competition among these elite sires.
