Andres Vereecke scores a victory in 1.60m Grand Prix of Liège

It was an exciting Grand Prix in Liège. As one of the first to start, local youth rider, Andres Vereecke set the time to beat and eventually won the 1.60m CSI4* Grand Prix.

As one of the first to start Belgium's Andres Vereecke guided his 11-year-old Igor van de Wittemoere (Cooper vd Heffinck) to victory in 34.58 seconds. Eventually no other combinations did beat this time, good for a 33.000 euro victory. USA's top rider, Laura Kraut did a great effort but had to settle for runner-up.

Aboard her Codex One-son, Curious George, Kraut crossed the finish in 35.36 seconds. Austria's Gerfried Puck completed the stage with his SF-gelding, Bingo du Parc (Mylord Carthago *HN). Only the top four riders managed to produce a clear Jump-Off round. 

Puck was followed by compatriot, Christian Rhomberg aboard Cornetta 13 (Cornet Obolensky).
