For the young show jumping horses, the obstacles in Aachen this afternoon were set at a height of 1.40/1.45m. In the end, only Hermès-rider, Ben Maher managed to keep a faultless time under 39 seconds with Corlander.
Together with the eight-year-old son of Cornet Colbert (breeder: Paul Schockemöhle), Maher narrowly stayed ahead of Richard Vogel and his KWPN gelding, Levi Noesar (Zirocco Blue, breeder: Jur Vrieling). For the home crowd, Philipp Weishaupt completed the top three in the saddle of Grace de la Claye (Utrillo vd Heffinck).
The times were exceptionally close. Just outside the podium, Erynn Ballard followed with Marieke Z Santa Rosa (Moncler van Overis), narrowly ahead of Henrik von Eckermann and the BWP stallion, Steely Dan (Hardrock Z).
Nicola Philippaerts also placed in the top ten. Philippaerts guided Gadget Mouche (Andiamo Semilly) faultlessly to eighth place.
