CCI5* Kentucky goes ahead after all thanks to crowdfunding

The Kentucky CCI5* competition, which was cancelled earlier this month due to financial reasons, may now go ahead after all. Indeed, over £550,000 was raised through crowdfunding.

The campaign was initiated by Brian Murphy, husband of eventingamazon Sara Kozumplik Murphy. "We are still short, but there is enough to convince us to let the event go ahead anyway," said Mike Cooper of Equestrian Events.

The CCI4* competition went ahead anyway but since the CCI5* competition required a high budget, it was initially cancelled. Thanks to the crowdfunding project, the competition at the highest level can now go ahead after all.
