USA's, Kelli Cruciotti Vanderveen has announced the retirement of her 14-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare, Hadja van Orshof (Cabrio vd Heffinck x Darco). An injury puts an end to the mare's career.
"A few weeks ago while we were competing in the Grand Prix at tryon Hadja was jumping clear like she had so many times before . Coming through the last line she landed and I felt something that was not right. After many scans and time evaluating everything it was determined Hadja sustained a career ending injury to her right front and she will never be able to be ridden again.." states Cruciotti.
The mare was bred by Michael van Orshoven. In 2019 Vanderveen won the CSI4* Grand Prix in Tryon and also ended second in the CSI4* Worldcup of Vancouver.
Happy retirement.
