CSI Vilamoura: No stopping James Smith in Ranking Class

The highlight of the day was jumped just now in Vilamoura: the ranking class of the CSI3* competition. 46 combinations came to the start of this class in which there was straight against the clock jumping but there was one man who stood out.

James Smith jumped a clear round in the saddle of his 12-year-old Arkuga (by Arko III). The duo did not come close to the wood and clocked off in 56.71 seconds. This was more than enough to clinch victory. Frenchman Julien Gonin came closest with Estrella de la Batia (by Diamant de Semilly). They too recorded a clear round but with their time of 59.01 seconds they had to settle for second place. The top three was completed by Duarte Seabra. He was able to record a clear round behind his name in the saddle of Maximus van de Kooldries (by Last Man Standing) and stopped the clock after 59.57 seconds.

Michael Pender (Hhs Catwalk) and Andreas Schou (Lady Corlina) took home fourth and fifth place respectively.
