In Waregem the Prize 'Merit Capital' has just ended. It was a 1m45 class with jump-off. Riders could collect valuable points for the Longines ranking. The Irish rider Ivan Dalton was the first rider to enter the show ring for the jump-off. He and Lord BI (f. Baloubet du Rouet) immediately rode a super fast round. This combination cleared the jump-off in 31,83 seconds. No other combination managed to do better.
Second place went to Francisco Pasquel. This Mexican rider jumped a clear round in 32,15 seconds but in the end he was just not fast enough to beat Dalton. He and Coronado (f. Cassini II) therefore had to take peace with the third place. Elisa Strubbe ended on third place. She and Scato van de Molenburg (f. Scendix) cleared the jump-off in 32,69 seconds.
The rest of the top five colored all British. Matthew Sampson ended on fourth place with Geneve R (f. Eldorado vd Zeshoek). Ashlee Harrison and Charity 41 (f. Clearway) completed the top five.
