Yesterdag, Daniel Deusser won the World Cup of Mechelen. He was the last rider to enter the show ground with the 9-year old Killer Queen and he took home the victory with an amazing time.
"I truly believe Killer Queen is a horse for the future. Stephan Conter bought her as a 7-year old and I've been riding her ever since. Even as a young horse she got some really good results, in the 7-year old classes, in the 8-year old classes and now. We started competing at the highest level only recently and I do realize there is still a lot of work especially in dressage. But I'm however convinced that this horse has a bright future ahead of her. Comparing her to Cornet? That's not possible. Cornet is the horse who made it all happen for me. I got my best results with this horse and I rode my first Championships with him. Cornet is the best horse I've ever had but maybe Killer Queen will have the same level in the future, that's impossible to predict".
He had something to say about the show of Mechelen as well: "Mechelen is like riding at home for me. All my friends and family are here and that gives me some extra motivation to do my absolute best".
Daniel Deusser moved up a few places in the standings of the World Cup: "The final in Las Vegas is a goal, but then everything has to continue to go well. I have several good horses in my team but I have to be able to qualify. I'm planning on going to the World Cup of Leizpig and Stuttgat and then we'll see".
