Daniel Deusser: "My jump-off just wasn't perfect"

Daniel Deusser, who was able to win the Mechelen World Cup at the previous edition, finished third yesterday. "My jump-off wasn't perfect, so I knew the win probably wouldn't be for me," he said.

"Tobago is not the fastest horse on the straight so I always have to rely on my turns. It actually already went 'wrong' in the turn to the second obstacle so then I already knew that victory was probably out of the question. All in all, of course I am very satisfied. Of course I would rather win but that was not in the cards this year. Why not? I'm getting old too," he laughed.
