Denis Lynch and Cornets Iberio unstoppable in CSI5* 1.45m of Al Shaqab

At the CHI Al Shaqab presented by Longines Doha 2022, the first big class of the day came to a thrilling close. The five star riders kicked off their week with a CSI5* 1.45m course, ridden over two phases special. Denis Lynch could provide Ireland with a fantastic first win of the week with his grey stallion Cornets Iberio. 


Denis Lynch could count on Cornets Iberio (v. Cornet Obolensky) to finish of the second phase with the fastest time of 32,09 seconds. Geir Gulliksen came close to Lynch's time but had to settle for second place. In the saddle of the gelding VDL Groep Quatro (v. Quaprice Bois Margot) he crossed the finish line in 32,96 seconds. Simon Delestre completed the top three with Dexter Fontenis Z (v. Diarado) and set a time of 32, 96 seconds. 

Kevin Staut and Tolede de Mescam Harcour (v. Mylord Carthago*HN) finished in fourth. For Germany, Gerrit Nieberg and Blues d'Aveline CH (v. Baloussini) claimed fifth place.
