Together with Francois Mathy and Louis Smeets' mare the Swedish rider was followed by Switzerland's Niklaus Schurtenberger and his 11-year-old C-Steffra (Clarimo).
Also Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann kept it clear. Aboard her 11-year-old son of Cornet Obolensky, Chesmu KJ, Zimmermann finished fourth. Only these four combination produced a double clear. Ireland's Olympic rider, Darragh Kenny completed the top five aboard Carthano (Cartani).
