FEI extends suspension of rider after he got caught competing with false name

Last summer the Dubai rider, representing the UK, Esam Zbibi has been suspended by the FEI after pins were found in his horses' leg protectors. Not only the rider, but also his trainer, Hicham Gharib was suspended. The latter has now received a second suspension. 

Hicham Gharib was suspended because of his involvement in this animal abuse. Recently Gharib got caught not respecting is suspension and starting at an FEI event with a false name.

The FEI-tribunal has reached a verdict and extended Gharib his suspension with one year, meaning his earliest return in the showring will be January, 31, 2024. Further he is fined 5.000 Swiss francs and has to pay the costs of 2.000 francs.

Gharib can file appeal until November 22.
