Gilles Thomas wins first CSI5* class of Waregem Horse Week

The first CSI5* class of the day has just been ridden in Waregem. It was a 1m40 class that was ridden in two phases. It was a two phases special class so all riders got the chance to ride the entire course. This wasn't an easy thing to do considering the bad weather conditions. Besides the weather, the time allowed caused some problems for the riders. In the end the victory went to the young Belgian rider Gilles Thomas. He rode Caretina (f. Caretino 2) clear to the finish in 27,62 seconds.

The second place went to Charles Henri Ferme. He rode the 8-year old Selle Français stallion to the finish line in 31,45 seconds. Alexis Borrin ended on third place with Bagheera de Jaldis (f. Guepard de Brekka). They left the wood untouched and finished in 35,36 seconds.

Omer Karaevli and Livingstone van het Peggershof (f. Ogano Sitte) took account of the fourth place. Filippo Marco Bologni and Sedik Milano Quilazio (f. Quidam de Revel) ended on fifth place with one time penalty in the second phase.
