Harrie Smolders: "I am truly privileged with my horses..."

On Sunday afternoon, Harrie Smolders finished third in the five-star Global Champions Tour Grand Prix in London. He relied on Monaco N.O.P. for this achievement. "Monaco jumped wonderfully again today. I might have lost a bit in the line towards the double jump and the final line during the jump-off," Smolders explains his third-place finish.

"I am privileged to have two super star horses, Monaco and Uricas vd Kattevennen, here in London and on the Tour. To perform well in the Global Champions Tour, you need horsepower. I have that." Three weeks ago, Smolders won the GCT Grand Prix in Riesenbeck with Uricas vd Kattevennen.

Smolders set records once again. He is the first rider in the history of the Global Champions Tour to be on the podium four times in a row in a Grand Prix, and he has been on the podium a total of 24 times. "I owe this to the amazing horses in my career. Now, with Monaco, Uricas, Darry Lou, and Bingo du Parc, I have four fantastic horses at my disposal."
