The 24-year-old had already finished second the day before on Thursday and therefore headed the qualifying rankings for the second most important jumping competition at the 37th International STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS Horse Show with 84 points. He just pipped Hans-Dieter Dreher who amassed 82 points on his 11-year-old Holstein gelding Cous Cous. The German won yesterday’s class and came fourth today. 

Charles finished clear in a time of 59.30 second, just ahead of Philipp Schulze Topphoff (Germany) on Carla NRW (Comme Il Faut, breeder: Karl Heinz) (61.77) and Dutchman Kevin Jochems aboard Flying Jackie  (Nabab de Rêve, breeder: J.J. Ansems & G.W. Ansems-Mooy) (62.95). 

In addition to Charles, Dreher, Schulze Topphoff and Jochems, the following have also qualified for this evening’s STUTTGART GERMAN MASTER which will start at 10.15 pm: Steve Guerdat (Switzerland), Scott Brash (Great Britain), Patrick Stühlmeyer (Germany), Alain Jufer (Switzerland), Penelope Leprevost (France), Pius Schwizer (Switzerland), Marco Kutscher (Germany) and Rik Hemeryck (Belgium).
