Jane Savoie passed away at the age of 71


Jane Savoie passed away on Monday at the age of 71. The American Amazon fought for years against blood cancer and Multiple Myolema. With the KWPN rider Zapatero (by Nimmerdor) she was reserve for the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona.

Savoie was active at Grand Prix level with several horses. In her career she won the Horse of the Year Award nine times and became three times American champion. She rode her last competitions in the 2000s. She was also successful as a coach: she trained the Canadian eveting team at the 1996 Atlanta Games.
