In the last edition of the equestrian talkshow to watch on jump-off.be or equitube.be the FEI discussed with different people the new FEI rules. Also Ken Ruysen was on the spot. "The new temperature regulations cost us about 40.000 euro extra every year," states Ruysen. "Of course you cannot express horse welfare in numbers, but as an organizer it is obvious this rule is not reaching the goal. Many riders and grooms do not actually take temperatures... and there's a lack of a control organism." Prof. dr. Frank Gastuys replied that a mandatory vaccination is the only preventive solution ... the FEI remained on the background, but also took a point that mandatory vaccination won't be applied in the near future.
