Former Belgian champion Koen Vereecke concluded his successful competition in Wiesbaden with the icing on the cake. In the 1.60m CSI4* Grand Prix, he jumped to the ultimate Grand Prix victory with the 14-year-old Kasanova de la Pomme!
Halfway through the jump-off, Vereecke sharply beat the time of Anna Maria Kuhlmann. Vereecke stopped the clock at 54.56 seconds, which was about three seconds faster than Anna Maria Kuhlmann and the 13-year-old Pegasus Deau Re Mi (Deauville van T&L).
Earlier, Nicola Pohl won the 1.40m class. As the penultimate to start, she finished in third place with one jumping fault. Riding the 13-year-old Catz de Sulpice (Tresor de Virton), the German was eventually succeeded by Yuri Mansur.
The Brazilian was the last to start with his 16-year-old Vitiki (Valentino). The pair was fast but also knocked down one rail. First to start the jump-off, Antonia Pettersson Häggström completed the top five riding the 13-year-old Zara de Laubry Z (Zandor).
