Laura Chapot rode Calafornia to victory in the $20,000 CMJ Sporthorse 1.40m Open Stake, Saturday’s featured competition at the 2021 Lake Placid Horse Shows, Sponsored by Bainbridge Farms, LLC and Presented by Sea Shore Stables, LLC.
In the $20,000 CMJ Sporthorse 1.40m Open Stake, Chapot was one of eight entries to reach the jump-off by riding without penalty over the first-round course designed by Alan Wade. She then claimed the win with another clean ride over the tiebreaker course with the fastest time of 36.444 seconds. Second place went to Grace Debney who finished the jump-off clean in 36.665 seconds on Boheme De La Roque. Chapot also took third with a clean ride in 36.787 seconds on Gideon.
Saturday also saw Dylann Ephraimson ride Vindicator to victory in the $5,000 J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines Adult Amateur Jumper Classic with second going to Lee Lee McNeil on Heike ES and third to Wendy Chapot Nunn on Cashe.
