In La Baule the countdown for the Rolex Grand Prix has started. This morning the 5*-combinations warmed-up in their 1.45m ranking class. For a long while it was Yves Vanderhasselt in the lead with his Lelielounka STW. Eventually Laurent Goffinet claimed a home-victory aboard the 12-year-old Absolut de Lacke.
The French showjumper and her son of Diamant de Semilly were only a few tenths of a second faster as yesterday's Derby winner, Denis Lynch. Lynch placed as runner-up aboard his 16-year-old GC Chopin's Bushi. On stage he was followed by Julien Gonin with Caprice de Guinfard.
Outside the top three it was Belgium's Yves Vanderhasselt jumping into a fourth place. Vanderhasselt placed with his 11-year-old mare by Emerald. The top five was completed by Hans-Dieter Dreher and Cous Cous 3 (Cachas).
