The first Grand Prix of the day has just been ridden in Beervelde, that one of the CSI2*. The riders got to jump a difficult class but in the end 16 of the 64 starting combinations managed to jump a clear first round and came back for the jump-off.
Quick results
1. Louise Simpson - Jenson 55
2. Gudrun Patteet - Sea Coast Crystal de Leau
3. Silvia Bazzani - Chicho
All riders went fast as lightening in the jump-off. Wouter Devos was the first combination to enter the show ring for the jump-off with Kadafi Van'T Hof. They rode a fast round in 49,79 seconds but Kadafi hit one fence. But now the next combinations did know more or less what the time could/would be. Thomas Leemans was the next rider to enter the show ground and he did jump a faster round with Gracchus DM (f. Wander vd Mispelaere) but he also got one penalty for jumping. Leemans showed however that it was possible to ride a faster round than the round of Devos.
The audience had to wait a while, but in the end a clear jump-off did came up. The Italian rider Silvia Bazzani saddled Chico Z (f. Coriano) and finished in 44,22 seconds. This tome already seemed to be quite fast, but Belgiums Gudrun Patteet proved that it was possible to ride an even faster round. She jumped a clear jump-off with Sea Coast Crystal de Leau (E.T.) (f. Clapton) in 41,01 seconds. Because of that, Bazzani moved to the second place; Patteet took over the lead. But then Louise Simpson came in. She and the 11-year old Janson 55 (f. Verdi TN) jumped a super fast round and finished in 40,49 seconds, taking home the victory.
Juliette Faligot (Appy Days Une Prince) took account of the fourth place. Lore Decock en Heschung Van T Adeldonk (f. Wandor vd Mispelaere) ended fifth.
