Luciana Diniz on top in Madrid

It was Portugal's Luciana Diniz who conquered the main 1.55m class at the Longines World Cup competition on Friday evening. In an exciting class, Diniz speeded to victory aboard her 10-year-old Vertigo du Desert (Mylord Carthago*HN).

The pair was followed with only a small difference by Italy's Emanuele Gaudiano with the 10-year-old Chalou (Chacco Blue). France's Simon Delestre completed the stage.

Delestre and his trusted 14-year-old Hermes Ryan (Hugo Gesmeray) were just a fraction faster as world number one show jumping rider, Steve Guerdat. The Swiss show jumping rider followed in a fourth place with Albfuehren's Bianca (Balou du Rouet). The top five spot was completed by the GCL leading rider of the year, Pieter Devos aboard Jade v Bisschop (Ogano Sitte).
