Mac Cone and Zaia Di San Giovanni score CSI5* Grand Prix victory at Angelstone

Mac Cone (CAN) did his home country proud by winning the $217,000 CSI5* Kubota Grand Prix to conclude Major League Show Jumping's debut in Canada at Angelstone Tournaments. The 69-year-old Olympic team silver medalist swooned over his mount Zaia Di San Giovanni (Cornet Obolensky x Cassini II), saying she's the best horse he's ever had. The pair led off in a nine-horse jump-off and could not be caught.

Rodrigo Pessoa (BRA) settled for second riding Quality FZ (Quintender x Eurocommerce Berlin), and Shane Sweetnam finished a stellar two weeks by climbing onto the podium again in third with Karlin Van't Vennehof (Fantomas de Muze x Quasimodo vd Molendreef).

Major League Show Jumping returns to Michigan's Traverse City Horse Shows for another phase of competition during the prestigious American Gold Cup September 17-19.
