Maikel van der Vleuten dominates 1.50m main class Casas Novas

No fewer than 16 combinations qualified for the jump-off of the 1.50m main event in Casas Novas, Coruña. On Spanish soil, Maikel van der Vleuten ultimately jumped to victory with his 13-year-old Dywis HH (Toulon).

Van der Vleuten and the 13-year-old mare Toulon jumped to victory with only a few hundredths of a second to spare. The pair finished under the time of Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida and the nine-year-old KWPN mare, Karonia L (Harley VDL).

France's Simon Delestre completed the top three with his nine-year-old Crack d'Aiguilly Z (Comme Il Faut). The pair managed to keep Constant van Paesschen from the lead halfway through the jump-off. Van Paesschen eventually finished in fourth place with the 11-year-old SF mare, Diaz du Thot (Ready Boy des Forets 'Hn').

The top five of this main event was rounded out by Mexico's Fernando Martinez Sommer and his 17-year-old KWPN gelding, Cor Bakker (Colandro).
