McLain Ward calls Americans to unity

Usually riders keep a low profile when it comes to political statements, but given the events of recent days in America, McLain Ward decided to change that. In a post on Facebook, he criticizes the current political situation in the U.S.: "I feel really sad about the current state of our nation," he starts.

He writes: "As a people we have based our opinions about each other on extreme ideas. The political and personal divide has not only deepened, that divide has deteriorated into a situation that is truly discouraging. The hatred, the lack of compassion and empathy for each other and the total contempt for our fellow citizens and the ideals of our nation, it is a disgrace".

He clearly refers to the storming of the Capitol by Trump supporters but he doesn't really take sides: "I would say that both our political parties no longer represent many of us," said the top rider.
