McLain Ward on top in main class CHIO Aachen

In the main class at the CHIO Aachen the combinations jumped two round. Eventually it was USA's McLain who set the best result aboard his 13-year-old  Contagious (Contagio). The fastest time was set by Germany's Daniel Deusser who jumped with Bingo Ste Hermelle (Number One d'Iso) to the 8th spot after one rail down.

USA's McLain was followed by Switzerland's Martin Fuchs and his 11-year-old  Conner Jei (Connor 48). "He's a fantastic horse, but he must be as he's German," Mclain said afterwards. The stage was completed by Ireland's Conor Swail who jumped into the third spot with Count Me In (Count Grannus).

The pair was followed by Megane Mossonnier and Bracadabra (Pacific Des Essarts) in a fourth spot. Austria's Max Kühner and Elektric Blue P (Eldorado vd Zeshoek) completed the top five.
