On Thursday the action for the CSI5*-combination, at the Spruce Meadows competition, kicked-off with a 1.55m class. It was Nayel Nassar leaving the other combinations behind.
Competitors took on the track designed by FEI course designer Anthony D'Ambrosio (USA). No one could beat Egypt's Nayel Nassar and Coronado (San Patrignano Cassini x Acord II) their time. Only 0.05s behind followed USA's Kent Farrington on Landon (Comilfo Plus Z x Quadrillo), while the third place went to Canada's own Kara Chad on Quidamo F (Quality 9 x Chameur) with a time of 64.18s.
In the CSI5* Friends of the Meadows 1.50m, Great Britain's Matthew Sampson took the top honours with Fabrice DN (VDL Emilion x Baloubet Du Rouet) when stopping the clock at 67.46s. With a time of 68.58s, USA's Nicholas Dello Joio and Cornet's Cambridge (Balou du Reventon x Cambridge) finished second, while Canada's Vanessa Mannix and Kitting des Hausseurs (Winningmoood x Thunder vd Zuuthoeve) took third after crossing the finish line in 68.91s.
