Polias de Blondel retires at age 18

French rider Alexandra Paillot has announced on social media the retirement of her partner Polias de Blondel (by Desir de Chateau).

Polias de Blondel made his competition debut under the saddle of Timothée Bazire and Ronan Lerat, with whom he competed in the Youngster classes. He also jumped the World Championship for 7-year-old horses in 2010. Four years later he moved to Alexandra Paillot, with whom he completed the rest of his career. The gelding is now 18 and can now enjoy his retirement: "I am very grateful to him because thanks to him I started jumping at a higher level. I learned so much from him: hard work, confidence, success but also modesty," Paillot said on her social media.
