No less than fifteen combinations qualified for the Jump-Off in the 1.60m Worldcup qualifier of Basel. It was eventually home-rider, Steve Guerdat who speeded to victory with Victorio des Frotards.

Halfway the Jump-Off round Guerdat made the home crowd go wild jumping into the lead in this 1.60m Jump-Off. Aboard the 11-year-old Victorio des Frotards (Barbarian) Guerdat crossed the finish in 31.44 seconds. Almost at the end, France's Julien Epaillard did a great effort beating that time.
Together with Queeletta (Quality) Epaillard stopped the clock in 31.94 seconds, settling for a runner-up position. As second but last rider, the leader of the Worldcup ranking, Belgium's Pieter Devos eventually jumped to the third spot with his trusted 15-year-old Apart (Larino).
Devos was followed by Marcus Ehning with the 17-year-old Cornado NRW (Cornet Obolensky) in fourth and Denis Lynch with GC Chopin's Bushi (Contendro II) in fifth.
