Stockholm is jumping at the highest level this weekend. Today, the Swedish city was all about the Global Champions League and it got a dream winner. The Stockholm Hearts with Malin Baryard-Johnsson, Peder Fredricson and Olivier Philippaerts crowned themselves winners to the delight of the home crowd. The team was able to keep the clear over two rounds and also did so in the fastest time.
The first round featured Peder Fredricson and Olivier Philippaerts. Philippaerts saddled his trusty H&M Legend of Love (by Landzauber) to ride to the finish in 72.30 seconds. Fredricson rode Hasson WL (by Hip Hop) clear through the course in both the first and second rounds. In the second round Philippaerts did not start again for the team, Malin Baryard-Johnsson took his place. She too rode a clear AND fast round in the saddle of H&M Indiana (by Kashmir van Schuttershof), securing victory for her team.
The Scandinavian Vikings with Evelina Tovek and Henrik von Eckermann followed in second place. Riesenbeck International with Christian Kukuk and Philipp Weishaupt completed the top three.
In the individual competition, Olivier Philippaerts rode to victory. He was able to jump the fastest clear round (68.40 seconds) in the saddle of H&M Miro (by Diamant de Semilly). Henrik von Eckermann and King Edward (by Edward) took home second place. They also recorded a clear round behind their name and clocked off in 69.00 seconds. Third place in the individual standings also went to Sweden: Malin Baryard-Johnsson's fast time earned her and H&M Indiana (by Kashmir van Schuttershof) third place.
Marcus Ehning (Stargold) and Victor Bettendorf (Simolo de la Roque Z) completed the top five.
