The two Belgian talents, Gilles Thomas and Thibeau Spits, put in a fantastic performance at the Saut Hermès in Paris in the CSIU25 1.45m Team Competition and claimed victory in this team competition.
In this team competition for U25 riders, it remained extremely exciting until the very last moment. Team Belgium, consisting of Gilles Thomas and Thibeau Spits secured the first place in this Les Talents Hermès Team Classification. Gilles Thomas could count on Jetric Van Beek Z (by Jivago d'Arsouilles) and in the saddle of Juragold Bormes (by Contact van de Heffinck) Thibeau Spits secured two clear rounds. The duo ended on a fault margin of four points but put down the fastest rounds which landed them in first place.
For team Great Britain, the two sisters Sienna and Scarlett Charles were satisfied with second place. Sienna could count on Ornellaia (by ) while sister Scarlett went into the ring with Lordanos Junior (by Lordanos). These two ladies also scored a total of four penalty points but were just not fast enough for victory.
Matt Garrigan and HHS Seattle (by Paccino) teamed up with Anna Carway and Ajaccio (by Caretino) to secure Ireland of the bronze medal in this team competition. Team Ireland saw four penalties in the first round, but with recorded times and finished third.
Team France consisting of Laura Klein (Cattleya Plassay) and Antoine Ermann (Azur Du Vinnebus) finished fourth. The fifth place was for the Netherlands with Mel Thijssen (Florida Balia NL) and Teddy van de Rijt (Gino).
