This week Nations Cup Belgium is the first 'battle field' for this year

Starting on Thursday April 2nd, the renewed riding school in Oud-Heverlee, Belgium will welcome over 150 people from 14 different countries. Each country represented by 3 riders, they will compete in this year's first AIEC Student Riders Nations Cup. Host country Belgium will be represented by 3 newbies in the circuit. Morgane Dierendonck, Meghan Gillot and Hannelore Beckers will take a stand against Ireland, Great-Britain, Sweden, Poland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Canada, the United States of America, Norway, France and the Netherlands. All riders will compete in both dressage and showjumping. The organizers provide the horses that will compete from a beginners level to the Prix St George in dressage and a style course at 0.9m to a final round set at a height of 1.35m. This first Nations Cup of the year will be crucial to take a strong start in collecting the points for this years AIEC Presidents Cup. The 6 best countries in this ranking will be able to compete in the next Gold League World Finals. AIEC Nations Cup Belgium will also be the place for AIEC's new board elections. Current president, Bram Van Hulle (BEL) is stepping down after a term of over 5 years. A total of 3 positions will be open to be filled in. Rumours are that Irish Gary Flynn might be up filling in the new President's position.
