The LGCT competition lands in Riyadh! In the CSI5* 1.45m Opening Class of Riyadh, Abdullah Alsharbatly (KSA) was close, very close to victory but had to let Christian Ahlmann (GER) go in front of him.
Christian Ahlmann (GER) rode the Zangersheide stallion Otterongo Alpha Z to victory. The 9-year-old stallion by Darco crossed the finish line in 24.24 seconds. With that time, they knocked Abdullah Alsharbatly (KSA) and his new moount, Floris TN (Quality Time TN), off the top spot. Alsharbatly's time with Jérôme Guery's former horse was 24,61s. The bronze medal went to a compatriot of Alsharbatly, Saad Alajmi (KSA), with Great Gatsby (Contendros) and a time of 25,94s.
Since Jur Vrieling's (NED) Long John Silver 3 NOP is no longer part of his team, the Dutchman only traveled to Riyadh with Griffin van de Heffinck. The sBs mare by Castelino van de Helle secured him the fifth place. On four there was Philipp Weishaupt (GER) with Mescorial PS (Messenger).
