EHV-1 case reported in Antwerp, Belgium

The Equi Focus Point Belgium (EFPB), an infectious disease hotline for horse practitioners, reports a case of EHV-1 in Antwerp.

Earlier this year, the international equestrian sport was shut down due to an outbreak of the herpes virus, which caused paralysis. The outbreak then took place in Spain.

The EFPB now reports another case of EHV-1 in Antwerp. The horse in question showed nervous disorders, paralysis and had been feverish for several days.

The horse had not been vaccinated.
