The British dressage rider Charlotte Dujardin has withdrawn from the 2026 World Cup Final in Fort Worth (USA), even though she had secured a spot through an extra starting place. She earned this place based on her high position in the FEI world rankings and her participation in multiple qualifying events. A second extra place became available after defending champion Charlotte Fry withdrew; this spot was allocated to another rider.

This season, Dujardin competed with her 12-year-old mare Alive and Kicking, achieving strong results, including a fifth place in London and a sixth place in Amsterdam with scores around 79%. Although she had sold a share in the horse in 2024, she was once again listed as the full owner at the start of 2026.

Despite qualifying, she will not take part in the final. The British Equestrian Federation has stated that it respects her decision but has not provided further explanation. According to them, her withdrawal is unrelated to recent media reports or a video from Amsterdam in which animal welfare groups raised concerns. There is also no official investigation underway.
