Italians off to a bad start after Lorenzo de Luca drops out for European Championships Rotterdam

The Italians are not off to a great start at the European Championships in Rotterdam. Right before the deadline one of their top riders had to resign and won't compete next week. The team will travel to Rotterdam in the Netherlands without Lorenzo de Luca. They hoped to score one of the last remaining three tickets for the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

De Luca's absence will be felt in the team. His horse Ensor de Litrange LX II (Nabab de Reve) sustained a light injury and will stay at home. For De Luca this meant he had to resign from te EU-CH this year.

Chef d'equipe Duccio Bartalucci will bring his reserve rider Massimo Grossato and his horse Lazzaro Delle Schiava (Acodetto) to complete his team of four. The remaining riders Bruno Chimirri with Tower Mouche, Giulia Martinengo Marquet with Elzas, Luca Marziani and Tokyo du Soleil and Ricardo Pisani who will bring his Chaclot
