A total of 40,000 spectators gathered yesterday for the 'Waregem Koerse'. Horse passionates, invité's all witnissed the win of the 8-year-old French stallion Taupin Rochelais. With French rider Thomas Beaurin, Taupin won the 'Flanders Cheeple Chase', the main race of the day.
Unfortunate news came from the last race of the day. With the 5-year-old horses one horse had to be euthanized. Falling after one of the different fences.
For this 168th edition the Cheeple Chase offered a total of 98,000 Euro in prize money, open for 3- +6 years old horses.
