Gregory Wathelet just won the Lyon World Cup in sensational fashion. In the saddle of Bond Jamesbond de Hay (by Diamant de Semilly), he succeeded in edging the time of speedster Julien Epaillard, who had been in the lead until then. "I didn't realise at all that I was so fast," Wathelet said afterwards.
"Today was really my day," he continued. "My horse jumped very well and I decided I wanted to go all out. My stallion naturally has a great canter and I made grateful use of that. Today all the puzzle pieces fell into place," said the brand-new winner.
