Ingmar De Vos created a unique event in sport policy, being re-elected president of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) for a third (and final) term. The 59-year-old Belgian had no fellow candidates in the running but was enthusiastically and overwhelmingly re-elected. De Vos can arguably be called the most important human being in the equestrian world, and always does so with the utmost modesty. This made him more than deserving of the award as personality of the year.
