Nutella boss invests in exclusive Belgian stud farm

What do Nutella, the sweets Tic Tac, Kinder Chocolade, the chocolates Ferrero Rocher and Mon Chérie and the cookie producer Delacre have in common? They are all owned by Giovanni Ferrero. With 31 billion dollars in assets, he is the richest Italian.

Much less known is that Ferrero was raised in Brussels as a child. Not only because his father wanted to save him from mafia terror and kidnappings in his homeland, but also because he was convinced that Brussels would become the center of the economically unified Europe. And Giovanni Ferrero remained attached to Brussels. This commitment can also be seen in the fact that he is once again investing 4 million euros in the La Chevalerie equestrian center and riding school. Exclusively located on the edge of the Forêt de Soignes, barely two kilometers from his spacious villa in Sint-Genesius-Rode, it is one of the most prestigious in the country.

The complex offers its members two outdoor arenas of 100 meters by 50 meters and 40 meters by 20 meters and a large indoor track of 80 meters by 30 meters. There are more than 100 horse stalls equipped with drinking troughs with antifreeze circulation and fire detectors, solarium, showers with hot and cold water and a covered circular walkway. All this is complemented by meeting capacity and catering. The equestrian center specializes in riding lessons for young people.
