Ibestra VB, the 11-year-old mare with which Thibeau Spits successfully competed for over three years, has been sold. The KWPN mare was bred by G. Verbakel and in ownership of Koen Praet. After her successful performance in Mechelen, she caught the attention of several potential buyers and has now found a new stable.
The training of the grey mare started under Katrijn Van Hoecke. Thibeau Spits took over the reins of the then seven-year-old mare in the summer of 2020, with occasional interludes with Lauranne Spits. The daughter of Quality Time TN was trained by Spits from a young horse to a Grand Prix horse. The duo mainly competed up to CSI3* level but also appeared on the start list for the CSI5*-W competition in Mechelen at the end of last year. There, they finished fourth in the 1.40m class and even second at 1.45m level the following day!
Together, the young couple achieved many impressive results, including victories at the youth competitions in Opglabbeek, as well as during the CSI3* Nations Cup and the regular CSI2* competition in Kronenberg where they finished first. In total, they reached the podium together sixteen times.
