Hermès presents Award to talented young rider at WEF

An expert in the making of equestrian products since 1837, and a long-standing partner of the equestrian world, Hermès is pleased to announce a special preview of the new jumping saddle – Hermès Allegro – at the 2016 Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida on March 3rd, 2016. The official unveiling will take place at the seventh annual Saut Hermès, the premiere show jumping competition, graded CSI 5*, on March 18th, 19th and 20th at the Grand Palais in Paris, France. A descendant of the Steinkraus saddle, and developed with Hermès partner riders Pilar Lucrecia Cordon (Spain), Lillie Keenan (USA) and Daniel Bluman (Colombia), the Hermès Allegro saddle offers a forward balance enabling the rider to accompany the horse’s every movement. Perfectly suited to riders who like to be out of the saddle when jumping, it facilitates the two-point position characteristic of the North American riding style. Research into shapes and developments in materials provide all Hermès saddles with high sporting efficiency, combining technicality, lightness, comfort, and elegance for all the disciplines, for both competitive and leisure riding. For the Hermès Allegro jumping saddle, the combination of its flat seat orientation, cowhide flaps and flexible integrated panels provide the horse’s shoulders with total freedom of movement and the rider with maximum comfort – an elevated encounter of precision and harmony. "Years after our well-known Steinkraus, we are glad to present its descendant, Hermès Allegro. Inspired by a shared leitmotiv of ‘less is more,’ cherished by Lillie Keenan, Hermès Allegro is the ultimate expression of the values which have driven the creation of all the métiers in the house since its first harnesses in 1837: lightness and functionality before all. Generation after generation, Hermès saddles have accompanied some of the greatest riders to victory. From Bill Steinkraus and his eponymous saddle to Simon Delestre, currently ranked first in the world, and the Hermès Cavale, our house has always endeavored to transform our partners’ requests into the finest sporting saddles." Marion Larochette, Director of Hermès Equestrian In addition to the launch of the Hermès Allegro saddle, the house will once again present the Hermès Talented Young Rider Award. Young riders aged 16-25 are eligible for the award, which will be presented at the beginning of April 2016 at the Winter Equestrian Festival. hermes.com
