There is no arguing with Boyd Exell's skills: Gold after round one Lyon World Cup Driving

This morning the second edition of the breathtaking Lyon World Cup Driving was kicked off. In round one of this four-in-hand driving time obstacle competition, speed, skill and strategy were the keys to success. Reigning world champion Boyd Exell threw all his expertise into the fray and took first place.

Boyd Exell and his four-in-hand (Bajnok, Maestoso Jupiter, Mad Max, and Barny) set a tight result of 287.42 seconds, including 4 penalty points from manche one. Both Dutch drivers, Ijsbrand Chardon and Koos de Ronde, were in line with the World Champion and completed the podium. Chardon's team (Favory Fantom, Casper, Dreef Inca, and Feles) also suffered four penalty points during lap one, finishing in second place with a result of 294.97 seconds. Compatriot Koos de Ronde collected a total of sixteen penalty seconds with 178 Maestoso Zenta XI 8, Favory Allegra Futar, Favory Mokany, and Tjibbe, which gave him the bronze place.

Tomorrow at 12.55 pm the second competition of this FEI Driving World Cup will be held in Lyon, where the three best drivers will compete against each other in a Drive Off after round one.
